AREZZO – HALF DAY

This city of Etruscan origins, the site of an antiques fair and of the Sarracen's Joust, boasts numerous masterpieces we will discover together.

Starting from the Dominican church which houses a marvelous crucifix by Cimabue, visiting the church of Saint Francis with one of the most famous fresco cycles in the world, Piero della Francesca's Legend of the True Cross, then continuing up to the highest spot in the city and the entrance to its Gothic cathedral.

Back in the center of town we will admire marvelous Piazza Grande, one of Italy's prettiest, with logge designed by Giorgio Vasari and with fascinating medieval house-towers.

AREZZO - FULL DAY

The day can continue in the early afternoon from the Romanesque Pieve (old parish church) of Saint Mary with its Madonna and Child Polyptych by the Sienese artist Pietro Lorenzetti, and the reliquary bust of Saint Donato. The visit to Casa Vasari is not to be missed. We reach it by walking through the city center on foot. Inside the museum you will be swept away by the marvelous interiors where amid a wealth of colors and allegorical figures, you will become better acquainted with the eclectic figure of this painter, architect, and writer, Giorgio Vasari. We will end our walk at the Badia (Abbey), a Vasari church par excellence, where you may take pictures before Vasari's tomb and before the Albergotti panel painting, ending our Vasari trail in his homeland of Arezzo in the best possible way.
